I thought it's pretty black and white on the form 4473 or whatever it is. You're not supposed to buy a gun that you intend to turn around and re-sell. If you want to buy a gun with the intent of selling it then you need an FFL.

I could be wrong but that was always my understanding. I remember reading topics about asking a friend to go to a gun show and buy a gun for yourself as being (technically)illegal.

I'm sure it's done all the time and no way to really prevent or prove anything. You could claim the day after you bought it that you decided to sell it but that at the time you purchased it you intended to own it.

Fixed it for ya.

Glock and Sig have a similar offer. But they also include disabled vets in the program.

Going on now? Have any more info?

I'm not ready for another gun quite yet, but I just ordered 3 XD9 16rd mags off SA for $20.27 each.

The link I have for Sig is dead. Give them a call. I know it was still going earlier this year.

Glock is a bit different. You have to go to a Glock LEO dealer. Not everyone who carries Glock is a LEO dealer. Take your proof of service in and fill out the form. You will get a "blue label" (three mags) Glock for the same price as a LEO pays.

I was looking at a nice little Chiefs Special stubby but they want $948 for it. So after the 40% off it comes to $569. Buds Guns offers the same revolver for $700 so it is a good deal but more like a 19%-20% discount. Still cant bring myself to pay that much for a stubby though when I could get a full size pistol or rifle for that price.

Can someone post the rep at S&W's email? I can't download the form that yall have posted on this gov computer.

I'm glad S&W is doing this, a coworker of mine told me about it this morning and I just had to check it out! It'd be nice to come home from this deployment to a new firearm.
