The MSM reports the BLS U-3 number which is now 10.2%. The BLS U-6 figure (17%+) is the one closer to reality. BHO wants people who have lost their benefits to have some money for the holidays; A noble gesture. IMO, he is also trying to skew the Q4 retail sales number to make things look better than they are.

One or two months of positive growth, spurned by an artificial sales gimmick called clash for cunkers errr... cash for clunkers is not a real growth, and thereby, not sign that the economy is getting better.

This should have been Obama's #1 and highly concentrated upon issue..... but no, Obama-care is soooooo important. Thanks douche.
Unemployment benefits are typically 26 weeks. They've been extended an additional 26 weeks already, then yesterday I heard they were adding another 14 weeks, and an additional 6 weeks if your State's unemployment is over 8% (which it is here in Ohio).

So, at least in Ohio, you can get paid for 72 weeks of unemployment benefits.

Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, the Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

Rising unemployment equals the economy getting better? Really? Where did these morons take Economics 101 class?

Hey, if we had passed the stimulus, unemployment wouldn't have gone over 8....uh, percent, uh....yeah, never mind. Lost my train of thought, oh well, gotta go call and see when my next check is coming.

With things the way they are going, I am feeling a bit anxious that I can lose my job at anytime.

It's impossible for the unemployment rate to be that high. I head just the other day that Obama had saved/created millions of jobs.

But... but... but... Obama said if the stimulus bill was passed, it wouldn't go over 8%! The report must be wrong. Obama would never lie to us.
