hell no...guns and booze don't mix...I can't think of to many other places that are ripe for violence just with the booze and then add in the possibility of a gun? NO THANKS.

People who are drinking should be carrying. To many people act way different when drunk.

It's legal in UT. The same laws for driving apply to carrying a firearm. You can drink and carry with a BAC up to .07. .08 and up and you're toast. UT doesn't have people shooting up bars, but a lot of responsible gun owners don't carry while they drink at all.

Personally, I'm on the fence about this issue. I don't see why I should have to give up my right to defend myself because I want a drink. Setting a definite limit like UT has done is nice. I can't have more than 1 or 2 beers, otherwise I can't carry, which means I shouldn't be driving as well. If I know I'm going to be drinking more I'll leave it at home, but that means I need a ride as well.

i say yes....as long as the person is not drinking. we can not carry into any place that sells and consumes alcohol in NC. i hope they change this law. i rarely drink and if i am not, i should be allowed to carry.

This is a tough one for me. Philosophically, I think it should be the responsibility of the person carrying not to drink, and banning guns from bars only limits the freedoms of the law-abiding... criminals will still carry in the bar regardless of the law. But on the other hand, common sense says this is a baaad idea. It isn't to hard to imagine people getting carried away and unable to resist the temptation to drink while they're carrying.

the real question is two bars of equal quality at the same part of town beside eachother one allows it one doesn't which would you go into? The one where the punk feels special that he has heat or the one where he knows if he draws he dies?

I'm going only to bars that allow guns if I have the choice. the designated driver carries simple system that works.

Guns don't keep society safe, the PERCIEVED POSSIBILITY OF BEING SHOT BACK AT keeps society safe (now your gun can keep you individually safe as well but thats not a society thing as much)

We need more laws to protect these three rights. Ban guns in schools, it obviously works.

Not only will I gladly go to a bar that allows firearms, I refuse to patronize one that doesn't.

I know myself, and I know how I work with alcohol; I'm no more worried about carrying and having a drink than I would be about driving after having one.

Personal responsibility, folks; just because you don't feel you'd want to be carrying after having a drink doesn't mean it should apply to everyone.

Depends on the bar and who the customer base is.
