The story said their was a fight, and this guy was trying to leave. If you jump in front of my car to prevent me from leaving a bad scene, you're being the aggressor. You're also being an idiot, cause I sure as hell wouldn't have backed up slowly.

Exactly. This dude screwed himself from the get-go by attempting to forcibly remove the appliances. Self help in recovering property is not allowed to begin with. He needed to file a claim in small claims court. The court order would then have allowed him to ask for the sherrif's help in recovering the items. All this court / sherrif business could have been avoided had he not vacated the premises leaving personal property behind. Dude is an idiot.

Bubba will be happy to have a new toy.

I'm gonna guess it was a justified shooting either way.

3-on-1 ... the 2 brothers got into an altercation with him. Then when he TRIED TO LEAVE (gtfo mode), one stood behind his car, so he hit him (knocking him down). The other brother began banging on his window (we don't know much more than this), and the "Mr. Smith" got a tire iron. They were out to hurt the repo man, if y'all can't tell that ya need to read it again.

1. They tried to keep him from leaving.
2. They were beating on his car.
3. Somebody was coming at the car (and him) with a tire iron.

I believe there is a lot missing from this story. I'd be curious to find out the rest of it.

Definitely a lot of of the story is missing. Repo man is starting out in a bad position though, beause his illegal actions started the whole thing.

I don't see anything about a physical fight?

He was in the right until he backed into the guy. He should have waiting for some threatening move... IE hitting the car with a tire iron. But because he made the first move its his bad.

Where the guy hit the car with the tire iron or whatever matters too. IF he hit the window etc that would obviously by a physical threat. Hitting the rear door because your pissed doesn't directly translate into fear for your life.

In the end it all depends on your local laws and law enforcment.

if someone backed into me with their car i'd take that as a threat to my life.. afterall cars are considered deadly weapons in the right situation. i probably would have grabbed a tire iron too!
