The DA obviously doesn't understand that you cannot confiscate private property without due process. He has to prove the owner is somehow disqualified from their 2nd Amendment rights. He can not arbitraily suspend those rights.

Hope the ACLU wins this one and I can't believe I just said that!

well, they let him go. If he was breaking the law, they should have pressed charges. If this stands, the cops can pull you over, take your guns, then let you go.

every so often, the ACLU pulls their heads out of thier back end, and does something correct.

We need more laws to protect these three rights. Ban guns in schools, it obviously works.

This is a seizure case, which applies to the 4th-- something the ACLU has always fought to protect.

The ACLU is pretty much always going to be wrong on guns and religion, and right on free speech and search and seizure.

This has been my main sticking point with the ACLU. You either support all individual rights or you're just a hypocrite.

Maybe the ACLU and the NRA should bond together and go after Cooke County again...

I have mixed feelings on them. I mean after congress passed a law saying that people like the crazy Westboro Batist church members can't stand closer than 200 yards while shouting how thankful they are that the soldier is dead to his/her grieving family who is burrying him the ACLU fought to have it over turned. They felt there is no limit on the right to free speech, anyone should be able to get in a widow's face and scream at her as her husband is lowered into the ground in front of his children.

Do you think our forefathers ever could have imagined the level of depravity we allow today?

I will say the people who do that deserve to be followed home and fudgebagged badly once the video cameras aren't around. Their goal is to get beat up on camera, they've stated this many times. But, see, the people they are abusing are honest, law-abiding Americans so to date nothing has happened to them. I'd gladly chip in for some fudgebags to hunt them down and make them sorry they were fudgebags (no, I'm not kidding, where is the slush fund?).
