A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Wayne County, Michigan, courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.

The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her.

When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Detroit Lions, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

i never heard that one before.

I banned the lions from my life in 2004.

I have not watched one minute of one game except for thanksgiving games ... which are so bad, i am pretty sure they NFL is going to take away the thanksgiving day game any year now. For sure the minute old man ford is dead, they will yank it from the lions. They might let us have it a few more years in deference to old man ford, and in hopes that he may pass before having to diss him (to out of towners he bought the team in 1964)

In other news...

Ford Field was evacuated today in what was believed to be a terrorist attack.

The Lions were cleared from the field while the FBI and local police agencies examined a mysterious white substance on the field.

Upon investigation, the substance was discovered to be the paint denoting the end zone.

A spokesman for the Lions stated that just to be safe, he did not anticipate the Lions returning to that portion of the field any time soon.

It happens to the best of teams LOL. As a Dolphins fan, i know how Lions fans feel.

There was a story during the 2007 season that a Dolphins season ticket holder went to Wal-Mart to do some shopping, and left two tickets under his windshield wiper with the note saying "Free."

He finished his shopping, came back to his car, and someone had stuck a 2nd pair of tickets under his wiper.

LOL no idea if its true or not.
