Idiots at the range...

We've all seen them...morons who point their weapon in all directions at the range, etc....I actually saw a guy at my local range spin a Glock on his finger like he was a damn Wild West gunslinger!!! He was quickly removed from the range, b.t.w....

So, here's my latest 'Idiot at the Range' experience:

[Last weekend] A female shooter arrived at the range shortly after Jimmy [jdreXD9] and I got there and pulled out what looked like a Glock 35. Her grip was 'unique' [left thumb crossed over right thumb]. Bizarre stance, can't even adequately describe.

Well, she hangs a target and proceeds to send to to the very far end of the lane. Then, she goes into 'gangsta' rapid fire mode. I'm sure you folks have all seen this shooter at the range time and time again! I was surprised she didn't hold the weapon sideways, which I see at my local range all the time. I personally report those clowns to the staff and have them removed. Keep an eye on these goof-balls and the range, folks! They are dangerous! I'll post a picture of the innumerable holes in the lane separators and ceiling at my range...it's unbelievable!

I think it would interesting to post stories of observing these morons in action. I almost always have my 11-year old son with me at the range, and I have left early many times due to these clowns showing up!

Let's hear your stories...

What's "gangsta rapid fire"?

She was holding it like a revolver. Was she hitting paper? If she's hitting the target then who cares how fast she's shooting?

My range doesn't allow rapid fire emptying of the magazine. Not a single shot hit the paper...

One of the ranges here is setup semi-outdoors style with a small shack like roof over the stalls. I've seen a guy try to do a mag dump with a desert eagle (50 cal) handgun. This resulted in the weapon climbing on him until it took off a large chunk of the roof. Not eactly A-Team material

Hah, no kidding! A buddy of mine with more money than brains bought a .50 Desert Eagle...he fired it 4 times and said it hurt his hand too bad!

most ranges dont allow rapid fire. I would be very suprised if she was hitting paper with the target at the end and holding sideways.

I was taught to hold my right thumb down with my left thumb if thats what you are talking about. A former sheriff, now instructor, taught me this way so my right thumb wouldn't be caught by the slide accedently or get in the way at all.

I like it and have been shooting that way for 3 years.

It also seems like I have more control.

GRIP: The best way, by the best guy:

For shooting, I'll take the advice of Brian E. and Rob L. over any cop, any day.

It did not look like this:

Her thumbs were crossed behind and below the slide...
