but it does at least reasure me in the mind set of getting my wife into a saftey corse/CCL befor buying her a gun.
I assume you mean IN the military on a military range?
Because otherwise it's ADW.

I can teach anyone the basics and fundamentals and safety. After that it is practice, practice, practice. I am pleased I was able to teach my wife basic safety and marksmanship and she went out and got her CCL. We shared a lane the other day, and while I was reloading my magazines, she was loading her own and shooting like a pro. She grew up being taught guns were bad and never even handled one until after we were married. For some people it is the luck of the draw if they have someone who is knowledgeable and willing to teach them. I have offered to teach friends who have not handled a fireararm or are uncomfortable with them due to lack to training. I don't charge, I am just happy to have one more safe educated shooter out there enjoying their second amendment freedoms.

I go to both a public outdoor range and a public indoor range. I prefer outdoors and the outdoor one here is much more scary then the indoor one. I think Im going to join a private range near by, to be safer. Oh I have a farm I can go to once in while from a guy I know whoms friend lives on it.

I'm a NRA certified Range Safety Officer and also the Assistant Chief Pit Officer for the National Championship High Power Matches at Camp Perry. The pits (target end of the range, if you're not familiar with that term) are behind a berm with the top of the berm about 8 feet above the concrete walkway on which the target pullers stand.

A couple of years ago, someone wanted to see what the firing line looked like from the pits, and began to stand on a bench to look over the top of the berm -- during live fire.

Fortunately, someone stopped him....

The only time I see stupid and dangerous things happening at our local public outdoor range is in the month of November.
We are a small northwoods hunting/fishing destination. We get all the morons from Chicago, Milwaukee & Minneapolis with their first centerfire rifle in hand ready to go out and hunt deer in a week,
A guy plops himself next to me at the pistol section with his brand-new 300win-mag, no hearing protection, no eye-protection and walks into the range with only the cardboard box the gun came in (no case) and a kid following with a few boxes of ammuntion. then placing his target at the 25' stand and is wondering why the gun is shooting high.
Otherwise the local range is a nice place to shoot.

I got a hell of a deal on an off-brand semi-auto .22LR, a guy couldn't hit paper at 50' with that gun, he asked me to shoot it to see if it was him or the gun causing the poor accuracy, and then he stated he was 'Ready to give it away" it was so bad.
My first shot was dead-nuts center of bull, so I decided to place my next few shots onto lettering and trademarks instead of the bullseye on the target so I would not make this guy feel bad under the realization he was just a lousy shot.
When he saw the target he quickly said "give me $25.00 and this gun is yours, I am sick of it" I gave him $30.00 and told him to keep the change. It has been a great gun with exceptional accuracy that rivals my bolt-action .22LR

I wonder how he is going to blame his poor accuracy on his next rifle?
Maybe I will be lucky enough to get that one cheap too!

I'm not condoning what the idiots do, they should be waterboarded for their actions.
But, I will admit that I laugh at anyone who pulls out a Kel-Tec. After I'm finished laughing, I quickly pack up and leave before the thing blows up. I don't want hit by shrapnel and I don't want to be stuck giving the guy medical attention and looking on the floor for his fingers
