My GF and I went tot he range last weekend. There was another guy alone, and then an old couple. The man was the only one shooting, his wife was watching. I said, "I'm going downrange to put up targets" (it's an outdoor range) and while I'm down there stapling I hear "Chick-chick" of a round chambering! WTF! I was down range and this idiot loads his gun! When you load a gun it's pointed down range right? Yeah, that's where I was. I let it go the first time. Then I reset the targets and he did it again! We left. I didn't even want to talk to him I was so fuming.

I've had several sweeping incidents with newbs at steel matches. One came to the firing line hot. Which means he loaded his weapon pointed down range, which is where the firing line is for steel days. So he loaded it, pointed it at someone, holstered it, and walked to the firing line with a loaded gun. He didn't get to finish.

And several people whipped their guns out at steel matches and see "Yeah I got one of those!" ugh.

I got one at the outdoor range I go to me and friend were out shooting his .22-250. At this particular range the pistol and rifle bays are right next to each other. So about 6 or 7 lanes down this guy is shooting his pistol off sand bags all crouched down and everything. So I minding my own business reloading spotting for my friend when all sudden I heard a thunk sound on the roof support pole right next to my head. For a moment I was just to stunned and then I say to my friend I think that was just a ricochet. Turns out the idiot with the pistol shooting of the bags was a horrible shot and was hitting the railroad ties used to hold up the target stands.

I think you should have told him not to do that and not just let it go. He'll do it again to someone else and maybe even cause an accident. When I see someone pointing gun downrange when there are people fixing targets or pointing loaded weapon at another shooter, I always let them know they can't do that..if they continue to neglect the rules or give me "What are you an expert?" or simmilar comment, I just let it go..but I make sure I warn them at least once as most of them will get the message and only few will ignore it.

Me and Htown were at our local range when a young couple showed up. The guy is shooting an .30 carbine but he's getting like every other round as a light primmer strike. The girlfriend is shooting an semi auto pistol. The girl is left pretty much unsupervised so she loads a mag and starts to shoot at a target they setup about 20yds away after about 5 shot she notices she's not hitting anywhere near the target. She then takes her next shot and it's about 3 feet from the target so, with her finger on the trigger she points the gun to her head closes one eye and looks into the barrel. She takes another shot and then repeats her actions, I guess to see if there's a bullet stuck in there, before she can do it a third time, my son (Htown), tells her to stop doing that. So the boyfriend or what ever he was comes over takes the gun from her to inspect it, the idiot puts his finger on the loaded gun's trigger sweeps the muzzle around towards her and then in our direction while looking at it to see if why it's not shooting straight, so again Htown tells the guy to stop doing that.

We decided to leave and come back after they had finished. When we got back I picked up about 15 rounds of unmarked .30 carbine from the ground.
