Thanks, search on Amazon and you can purchase it directly from Brian Enos himself, $20 plus a few bucks for shipping. Just ordered it.

I tried that hold on mine when I got home from work. Don't like it. The take down lever is in my way. Just personal preference, i'm not saying it's wrong. I have just shot my way for so long that I'm used to it....and it works for me.

O.k. now, let's all grab our XD's and try this together...hold up your Right hand...good...now your Left hand...good...now grab your weapon...ready...LEFT thumb over RIGHT thumb...if you did it correctly, it should feel very incorrect...not like the guy in the picture.

Did I not describe it properly the first time, or is the crossed-thumb-under-the-slide technique one I'm not aware of?

I understand exactly what you are describing. As a VERY new shooter (nothing but rifles & revolvers) I had the same grip... My husband "TOLD" me to hold it properly & I did not want to listen to him, 1 shot later & a bleeding gash across my knuckle made me change my grip ASAP.

OUCH! Yeah, it only takes one time to correct that!

I'm glad you understood my description...I thought from some of the replies that I wasn't doing a good job describing what I was observing.

O.k., let's have some more stories!

In my early days of shooting a Glock I had that problem too. After a good wack on the left thumb and the scar I now have, I learned how to grip my gun properly. Glocks are especialy good at teaching this lesson. She'll learn - maybe.

Big hands, little hands, short fingers, long fingers, large guns, small guns, short trigger reach, long trigger reach, fat double stacks, thin single stacks.

There is no one right way to hold a handgun.

I have had a few encounters with folks at the range that made me decide to pack it up a leave lest I get a stray my way.

I prefer outdoor ranges and there is one about 10 minutes from my house that I frequent. I was there once when a man shows up with three boys from about 11 to 15 years of age and sets up in the stall next to me. He took out a 1911 and loaded up a magazine and is trying to instruct the boys on how to fire it and limited each to about 4 shots. It was obvious this was the first time they had done this since the boys weren't sure of what to do and how to take off the safety, racking the slide, when it was empty or which direction to point the thing.

I was thinking that this may not turn out well so I hastily left. On my way home I was considering the day when I bring my son out to the range for the first time. Before then, he will receive some basics at home where he can actually hear me without ear protection and gunfire occurring around him. That way he won't scare those in the stalls around him like those boys did.

My range stories

#1 HOLY CRAP

When I first started shooting about 3 years ago I went to the range I was shooting my Rem 710 in .270 there was 2 guys and a kid (like 12yrs old or so) they were shooting a WASR10 AK the guy older guy loaded up a mag shot 5 rounds stood up handed the WASR to the kid to shoot he grabs it and and as he walks toward the bench Points it down the firing line at me and the 3 other people on the line next to me the range master came out yelling and screaming and kicked them out

#2 FLYING GLOCK

this happend two weeks ago I took my little brother to the range to shoot my 357snubbie and there where these 2 guys shooting glocks well it was my turn to shoot and out of the corner of my eye a see this glock fly out onto the range instead of the the guys going to the range master and say hey can you make the range cold so we can get our gun they try fishing it back with a broom

I tried it. I don't get how she could...

My range allows rapid fire. They allow pretty much anything. Range warden was teaching me to control muzzle jump FAST for rapid firing. They allow bump firing even...? The one thing they do NOT allow is stupidity.

Dumbest thing I saw was a kid decide to run in front of the firing line while I was preparing to fire. Lucky for the damn kid I saw his ass and lowered my weapon. Range warden and I went immediately to yell at the kid and the father, who didn't seem to care his kid was running amok... AT A SHOOTING RANGE. Warden lays into them, I lay into them, then warden cancels their year memberships and keeps their money. "Any issues? Bring it up with the police. They know just what to say to you." Needless to say, scared the sh!t out of me.

Correct, but there are several wrong ways. And those wrong ways usually lead to personal injury.
