Equate is made in China. Pressed together with chiken droppings and Melamine. I avoid any Wal Mart made product that does not DISTINCTLY say Made in the USA. Rule of thumb: If a Equate product is Made in the USA, the will label it as such. If it is not, the dimply say "Distributed by:". I avoid ingesting things that are made by people that have a vested interest in my death.

Save your money. Try and eat a balanced diet instead. Our bodies did not evolve to expect the required vitamins and minerals to be taken in one concentrated form.

I've read far too much research that shows they have little or no effect. Some studies as large a 150,000+ over eight years. Some even claim they can do harm
With a quick Google I found:
Quote:
In an analysis of 68 studies involving 232,606 people, researchers found no effect on mortality
This bit was interesting:
Quote:
food sources of beta carotene are protective against lung cancer, but two large scale human trials showed a 28% increase in lung cancer risk among smokers taking high-dose beta carotene supplements. Follow up studies demonstrated that betacarotene in high dose supplement form increased the formation of precancerous lung cells.
Vitamin Supplements: no benefits and potential harm

The above advise is valid only until you finish reading it, the next quack will be offering different advice later today...

quack quack... Your correct in the sense of getting your nutrients from food, the problem is (in respect to vitamins and minerals) Americans today don't eat a balanced diet consisting 4 serivings of both fruits and vegetables, all coming from different fruits and different vegetable sources. If your that 2-5% of our population then you would not benifit from taking a multi. Otherwise making sure you cover what you may not get from your diet in my personal opinion is worth a few bucks a month.
