Question about fully loaded vs half loaded clips

Someone told me the other day that I shouldn't keep my clips fully loaded unless I was getting ready to go shoot because of them weakening the springs. I can see what they are saying, but have never had or at least never noticed this happening before. Just curious as to what you guys might think about this. Half loaded clips vs fully loaded clips.....what do ya think?

There's absolutely no problem with leaving clips loaded, as there are no springs that might be affected. Some even say that it's o.k. to leave magazines fully loaded...probably a corrrect assumption.

The one on the left is a clip. The one on the right is a magazine. It's very likely that your pistol uses a magazine.

I leave my magazines full all the time. The way a spring works, it will lose its return force (the spring force) really slowly over time. It will lose more force if it is compressed/stretched beyond its limitations. So as long as you dont take it out and really bend it or try to smash it, it should be fine.

On a related note, I have heard people say that you should never fully load your magazines, ever.

I have heard all kinds of "stuff" but I know lots of people that have left their mags loaded for years. The overload of springs is spot on.
