If I was starting over, I would do my top 10-

1: XD-9 or 40 Service OR the XD-45 if available
2: Yugo SKS
3: 12 Gauge defense shotgun pump (Rem 870 or Mossy 500/590)
4: 1911 or SIG 220 (classic single stack .45)
5: .22 Pistol (ruger or walther)
6: .22 rifle (Ruger or Remington)
7: AR-15 carbine (Rock River/Armalite/Bushy)
8: AK47 (SAR-1 etc)
9: Kahr PM9 or 40
10: Kel-Tec P32 or NAA .32

After that, I would feel guilty and buy a giant safe and then...

11. 9mm carbine (Beretta/Hi-Point/Kel-Tec etc..)
12. Springfield M1A 18" scout
13. 4" S&W 686 .357
14. SIG 226 in 9mm
15. STI or SVI .40 Limited configuration (USPSA and IDPA ESP)
16. 12 gauge defensive autoloader (remington 1100 etc)
17. FN FAL
18. Remington 700
19. AR-15 full sized/HBAR
20. Tommy gun ;D

Of course I can keep going....

depends what exactly the intest is. If it is a SHTF type of thing than you should stick to the most popular items out there. For parts/ammo swapping.

IE 1911, AR15, AK47s, remington 870 or moss 500, ruger 10/22 etc

If your just talking for fun collecting then...

When you say arsenal I think build up for when SHTF, so I am more practical, guns that can take a beating and have proven themselves over time, also large availability helps as better chance for finding parts. See my Sig for my thoughts. I know people who have put 800 rounds threw an xd without cleaning, tons of rounds threw a mossberg, these are the things I think of when SHTF. I would also add a nice long range riffle and colt Ar15.

haha thanks guys.

But I just found out that my price for the HK USP-CT SD would probably be about $600 more expensive than what I guesstimated.

That's actually the order I'm going right now. I only own the WASR-10, but when I turn 21 I'll be getting a P2000 for carry.
