Yes I have shot 357 mags from a snub. I would practice with the 38s and load up to carry with the magnum. In a real world shooting you will never see the blast or feel the recoil. I reload, so even my 38 loads are mild for pratice. That's why I say get the magnum, you can always shoot 38s in it. And you lose nothing.
