Spyderco Native...$40 at Wally World.

There is a version with a blackened blade, but it will just cost more and wear off.

I like mine a lot. The clip is on the end opposite of the blade, so it carries tip up and makes for quick, easy opening. The clip is also reversible for left or right handed carry.

Some guys modify the thumbhole into a sort of hook that catches on the pocket while drawing and opens the blade "automatically". I haven't because I consider mine a tool, not a weapon.

Best of luck with your search and decision.

I carry my Kershaw Ken Onion Leek every single day. The assisted opening is as useful and fun to play with as it was the first day I got it. The sound of it clicking open is to a knife what the sweet sound of a pump action is to a shotgun. (when you are the one with the shotgun in your hands of course...not looking at the business end. then that is a bad sound) that quick click of the blade flipping out is so nice.

Their customer service is very good as well. there is a lifetime warranty on the knife and they will send you any replacement part except for the blade itself. for that, you have to send it to them. I bent the belt clip. I am VERY rough on gear, which is why I always buy good stuff. Anyhow, they sent me a replacement no questions asked as to how it got messed up. they asked me for the model number of the knife and the address to send it to. 2 days later it showed up.

It also met one of my primary requirements, made in the USA.

The other knives I like, though not made in the USA from what I have seen, are ones from Cold Steel.

I have a SOG Flash-1. I really like it. It seems to be a very good knife.

I recently got a Kershaw Ken Onion Tactical Blur Model KS1670TBLKST at Walmart for $50 or $55 because my old CRKT Pointguard had seen it's days and I had a wallyworld gift card to burn. So far I am ovrely impressed with the weight and balance of this knife. Super deal in reguards to some of the $100+ folders out there. All matt black finish and spring assist, with skate tape grip I DIG IT! Heres a pic of part of the family.

I am not 100% sure, but I think the S&W knives are re-labeled Boker Magnums. I own a few of them. In Florida it's legal to own and carry automatic knives (switchblade) if you have a concealed weapons permit.

I've bought knives from "Bladeplay"...their prices are fair (I've seen many of the same knives a gun shows for more). Shipping is included on pretty much all their knives and they are a pleasure to deal with. They sent me a wrong color handle knife one time and I called them and they sent me another knife, no charge ...told me to just keep the first knife (it was about a $20 knife...I had spent around $80 on the original order).

I bought a bunch of the 'California legal" Peanut III knives to give away. They cost less than $5 each (I bought a dozen). They are 440 stainless.

I carry the Boker Magnum (small size). Sturdy and reasonable in price. And if I lose it...well I bought two. One black, one "champagne". (The black finish does scratch).

I have a larger (5 inch blade) Buck knife that I've had for over 35 years. I figure if there's a nuclear war, all that will survive are cockroaches and that knife. It is rock solid!!!

Peace,
D.

Aww, why do people have to relable everything it's frustrating and somewhat like the HS-2000. I've never seen a switchblade in person, cool though that you can carry them with a ccw.

The Peanut III sounds like good inexpensive thrower. (It takes real skill to launch a un balanced knife at a target.)

Tanks for the link Delija and Bladeplay sounds like good business.
