Normaly a bad crown will cause poor grouping. If there is a really significant blemish it may cause wobble. I have seen some WWB in .40 keyhole at local matches, not sure why though.

I agree, it can be a host of things. It is best to get some different ammo to see if you get the same result. Please report back with your findings, Geezer.

FYI,

The pistol was new out of the box. I'm no gunsmith, but I don't see any hint of any blemish in the 3.5" barrel or its' crown. I only have a couple hundred rounds through it, but it has performed flawlessly and the accuracy is good. Santa gave me a few bucks for Christmas. I purchased some WWB Personal Defense 180 GR JHP from, where else, Wally World. I'm not real familiar with this ammo. I hope it's alright. With the holidays behind me, I should now be able to find time to get back to the range. I hope to have a report on this by the end of the weekend. I'm very curious to see if a change in ammo will make a difference.
