Just Call me Bo Duke....DAMN IT

So I worked as a security guard for a golf course, the other night I was feelin' like hot sh!t, and pulled a J turn, tennesse turn whatever you want to call it, and laid over the patrol truck. Damn It.
Because I was the longest running and most reliable employees they have ever had they gave me the option of quiting.
So now I am out of a job. Might have to sell my new norinco

http://www.hs2000talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=29165

Anyone know of any jobs in the Northern Arizona Area?

I'll try to get pictures of it later, but until then just imagine the worlds crappiest vehicle a 2004 GMC Canyon laid over on the drivers side and me looking like complete horse's a$$.

I'm not giving up. The only thing I've learned is to never break right during the middle of a j-turn. Stupid freakin' drivers ed class didn't teach crap.

You've probably seen it on TV or in the movies. Basically you get going a pretty good speed in reverse and you whip the wheel around and the car spins around 180 degrees and if you time it right with shifting from reverse to a fwd gear, you remain traveling in the same direction without slowing down much even though you just did a 180 degree spin. It's pretty neat. I've seen it on tv shows about the secret service. It's good for getting out of hairy situations in a hurry.

Sucks about the job.

I grew up calling them "Rockfords" from the old James Garner show "Rockford Files". He does one in his car during opening credits. The way we used to do them was:
1. Back up FAST
2. Crank the wheel HARD
3. Lock up the brakes once the car is starting to turn so the tires slide.
4. Change gears
5. Gun it.

If all comes out as planned you spend a very short time at a slow speed as you come out of it, accelerating fast, UPRIGHT, and are still in control. But I haven't tried one in years. I sugest getting a POS car (not a truck, center of gravity is too high) and try it again. Maybe learn on gravel. More slide that way.

Good Luck!!

Yeah, we call them Rockford turn-arounds too. Think he did at least one per show.

Before you try it again, go here.
