I tend to, in my area, see the most preferance towards:

.45 1911A1s
Beretta 92
Glock

Personally, I don't own a Glock, because (lets face it) XDs rock! But I do own a 1911, in the form of the Springfield 1911A1 G.I. .45 (I'm a WWII buff), and a Beretta 92FS Brigadier (Gift from my father). They all perform well, though the Beretta has proven to require a lot of cleaning to function well.

You forgot the best 3! Loricin, Davis and Bryco/Jennings!

Hey, I like my little Davis .380...great accuracy out to a 1yrd, reliably takes the hide off the top of hand....

My guess would be-

Some sort of DA revolver, probably .38spl
.22 Pistols (cheapy pocket type)
.32ACP/.380 pocket pistols

The amount of small, cheap pistols floating around this country is huge. Every gun show sells a bunch of them. You don't see them at the range because people don't like to shoot them.
