carryng a pistol with A-Grip
I'm a LEO in Tn and have had a Hogue on my G-22 for 9 yrs now and have top replace it 3 times cuase of tearing and peeling . I also have to adjust it ever so often when it "shifts" to the right left or slides down . My friends use skateboard tape but that stuff eats up your uniform when it rubs against it . What do you guys think about A-Grip? I just seen it for the first time the other day and it looked SWEET.

Greetings!
I currently use the agrip on my xd service that I carry concealed most every day (the other I carry is an XD Sub with the rubber grip decals but plan on switching there, too) and find absolutely no problems. In fact, other than a few folks talking about my "fuzzy handled gun" I have had nothing but compliments from the folks who have shot with it. Most of the naysayers stop after they see me shoot! So far I have not seen any terrible wear, it cleans well with water or alcohol and a toothbrush. No dragging on my shirt when I draw from cover. The company has a generous return policy if you don't like it...so GO FOR IT! And GO VOLS!! (I'm sticking to my story...this was a rebuilding year!)

thanks a bunch KyXD40 . I was just trying to get an opinion on them . Looks like i will go ahead and get one for the G-22 . When we are at the range I always have to re-position my hogue because it moves around so much .

I use pachmayr pac-skin on my XD40:
http://www.hs2000talk.com/viewtopic....hlight=pacskin The piece on the backstrap has since fallen off--not enough for the adhesive to stick to (and I wasn't willing to take the necessary steps...like gorilla glue). The rest is holding. The caveat is that I haven't been able to shoot the dang thing since I did this. This week...maybe??? Good luck, be safe, and thanks for the job that you do.

If you like the Hogue grips, maybe it's a worthwhile investment to stay with them. If you carry your piece every day for three years, you're bound to wear out something, right?
I'm not sure how much your grips cost, but when you amortize the cost over three years, it's probably not a bad investment. -James |
