I'm still probably going to go F-150 but man I sure do like that Ridgeline.
Hey Plinko,
When you go to buy that F-150 take a look at the VIN sticker in the drivers door sill. It may say Made in Mexico or Canada!!! The Ridgeline will say made in USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it is a 2005 or 2006, it wasn't made in Canada (Ford closed Ontario Truck in June 2004). There's a remote chance you'll see one in the States made in Cuatitlan, but most are coming out of Norfolk, Dearborn Truck, and Kansas City.

It very important to understand I'm NOT bashing the Big three but they have somereal problems that I'm afraid we(as tax payers) are going to have to deal with.
Two of the big three have serious problems with getting people to actually buy their product and top level management. While health care costs and pensions are big items on their balance sheets, placing the blame on health care and pensions is more of a smoke screen than anything else. The comparison between the F-150 and the Ridgeline has become all too typical recently. Delphi and Visteon's problems shouldn't surprise anyone - they were kicked out of the nest for not being profitable in the first place.

As for Wal-Mart, I don't know what to think. From everything I read, nobody wants them to build a store in their town - yet once one is built, people flock to them. Heck, one of the primary reasons that I don't shop at Wal-Mart is that there are too many people there. With all the Wal-Mart bashing going on, it either must be coming from a vocal minority or there are a lot of hypocrites out there.

This is very true but to say its a smoke screen is not correct

granted that management signed these labor deals but they (pensions and health care) and the distressed marketing that the big three are working with will drag them down

what happened to "Value Pricing" GM was talking about
you know cut the MSRPs on all the cars and trucks back to where they should be and then sh*t can the rebate merry-go-round

How about they fire they're whole design team? C'mon GM....get some cutting edge ideas out there. They seem to just follow the trends instead of carve the way. They are way to conservative in that aspect and nead an overhaul.

Although I did hear they are releasing a whole new flock in 07'...haven't checked into that yet.

....we'll see.

Ya think we could get value pricing if GM didn't use 500 to 1500 employees to design one A/C bracket?

alright hijackers, back on topic.

to Walmart or not to walmart??

WALMART!!

Why, b/c this is a capitalistic country.

Sam Walton didn't sit around and gripe that he wasn't getting healthcare.(I really don't know jack about Sam) He was too busy working to make a TON of money.

I shop at Wally world all the time!

Then I take the money I saved and reinvest it in WalMart stocks which I have had for a while now. BAMM!! money working FOR me, not me busting my ass for mininum wage then spending it on cell phones and bling.

News Flash!! there are a lot of uneducated people in our society, and I am not saying it is right to walk all over them, but man I am more interested in me and mine getting by than some illegal shmuck getting health benefits just to send his money back to the "homeland".

I may be cold-hearted but these people that "just wan't some help", would do the same thing given the chance, and if they had half a brain they would use it as a stepping stone to get some decent clothing and social skills and get themselves a well paying job.

BTW: if ur poor live like it... I say if you are not poor live like it. then you will truly become rich.

OK, I'm done.

Let's not forget Walmart has been caught time and time again hiring illegal workers. This tells me you people who own Walmart stock must also support the hiring of illegal workers. When you support Walmart your supporting law breakers. How you going to feel when terrorist start coming over with the illegals. I guess that will depend on how Walmart stock is doing. If terrorist start blowing things up and Walmart stock goes up then everything is OK, right?
