Got some money for Christmas! It is new gun time!
Well I got some money for Christmas and I was told to NOT spend it on bills and to buy myself something nice. I am considering a new pistol. Looking at two options, some form of a 1911 or a Smith 6 in 357. I do know about the new XD45 ACP coming out from SA. However I am looking to expand my collection with something different. I was looking at specifically the 686 6" S&W and possibly an SA 1911 Mil-Spec. I have around $600 - $700 to spend, so I can't go all out super shooter or anything but just a nice reliable possible to upgrade later pistol. Thanks!

My vote goes to the Mil-Spec. I went to the gun store a few days ago with the intention on purchasing a Mil spec and ended walking away with a CPO Sig 226. But the SA 1911 still haunts me. Maybe Valentine days

You can easily get a SA Mil-Spec for that amount of money, plus have cash left over for ammo.

I just bought a Springfield TRP w/ some Christmas money.
I don't know what the costs are in your area, but some of the Springfield Armory loaded models can be gotten for as low as $636 here. If not, then a stainless mil spec is a great gun. That started me off into 1911s almost 10 years ago. |

How loaded is loaded for the SA 1911s. I live in Northern California, so if someone has a shop that can take care of me I am all down to hear about it. My local shop usually has good prices for their guns.
