Sorry. A littel sappy here...

So, my paretns live in Ireland. I am from NJ, but I am stuck in Alabama. Most of my relatives, including my sister, live in NJ, or PA.

Why do I have a sappy feeling? My girlfriend told me tonight that the only thing she could think of today was what next christmas will feel like spending it with me. It melted my heart. Then, I would have been sitting on my couch depressed except for...

...I have a co-woker from the hospital where I work that is from the same state as me (NJ). Her and her family (Daughter, Son, Siter, Brother-in-law, and (even!) her boyfriend have adopted me into their family. They have had me over all the time to eat their food and drink there beer (yay!). And tonight they had me go out to church with them and then dinner at her house. And tomorrow I will be going over to my co-worker's sister's house in the evening to relax and enjoy the hoilday.

Even hough I miss my family ridiculous, I am enjoying this holiday so much! I count myself lucky to have such good friends.

My th0ughts are with everyon this holiday as I am reminded that Christmas is not about marketing and gifts, but friends and family.

EDIT:
I need to mention here thatm y co-workers mother made me a home made stromboli!!!! Dam I am a lucky guy!

It is amazing all the gifts God give us and we have a tendency to take for granted. Thank God for friendship.

Nah man, stomboli is an active volcano in Italy.

Stromboli is one of the most active volcanoes on Earth. It has been in nearly continuous eruption for about 2,000 years (some volcanologists suggest 5,000 years). Most of the present cone was well developed 15,000 years ago. This photo shows the volcano and town of Stromboli.

Yeah I know how you feel Ranger. I have been in the Navy for almost 6 years now and have been home for 1 christmas in that time. Even now that I have my own family it is still hard sometimes. It is good that you have somone you can spend you holidays with.

Best wishes
Tombo
