Corrected to say, plastic body instead of frame. You
are correct.

Reason that I suggested that the machine even be sent
back to Ken is from past experience with K-T. As Frenchy
said, their customer service is heads above. K-T will do
what needs to be done and do it right, up to and including
complete replacement of the machine even if it is years
old. Who knows, the machine in question could be needing
the updates, and that is a service that K-T does without you
even asking, once they have your machine in hand.

Quite the ringing endorsements from Ed and Frenchy. Guess it's finally time for me to get off the fence and get myself one of those little guys.

Will Kel Tec's service smooth out a gritty trigger if it doesn't break in to an owner's satisfaction?

Shanti,
D.

You can do the "Fluff n' Buff" treatment that will help quite a bit. The info on this is on KTOG. Mine has smoothed out over use, but don't expect a S&W revolver feel.

From the picture it looks like the whole gun is smoothed out. Like one of those "melt" treatments. Has that "used bar of soap" look. They look more squared in the display cases. Maybe it's my faulty memory? My failing eyesight? (Ain't getting younger).

Merry Christmas,
D.

Haha meta, its been with me a day and I realize that I've been a drama queen, I don't think its too bad and I managed to use some steel wool to make it look halfway decent. I'll post pics a bit later, I've been busy integrating my ipod to my car. Oh yeah, off topic, but I ruined something else, I'll post pics of that too. I finally got around to refinishing the stock on my yugo. I ran it through the dishwasher twice, got most of the stuff off. I let it dry for about 5 days and i started to see cosmo marks again. I ran it through the dishwasher yet again, and dried it. I checked it out today and the stock split in two places..is that safe? I seem to have a string of bad luck.
Delija, lugging around a XDSC and a P3at is night and day. Get a little clip for it and you will seriously forget its there. its almost weightless. I seriously think its a gun every CCWer should have for those quick trips to the store, formal attire, or just plain old lazy like me.

Yeah, I have always felt the XD SC is too big for me to carry concealed. I don't want to have to dress around a gun at all. The SC to me is another service type gun (OWB). Great for police. Too big for skinny me.

I've been carrying my Llama .380 when I do carry (I don't carry all the time). The Llama is half the width of the XD and that makes a big difference. I generally carry it in a thin nylon IWB holster and clip it to the pocket of my jeans so the barrel is actually in my pocket.

But the Kel Tec can go completely in the pocket while the Llama only comes close...and though the Llama is not heavy, it is too heavy to just drop in a pocket if the pocket were big enough...like cargo pants. Same could be said of the XDSC I guess.

The Kel Tec just seems like a gun I can be comfortable with all the time. Cell phone, wallet, Kel-tec, and one extra pocket.

Just got one of those RAZR cell phones so I guess now is the time to get set with a Kel Tec and keep my boyishly slim figure intact.

Merry Christmas,
D.

I do it IWB style with the kel tec. If I have a gun in my pocket, even the kel tec is too bulky, at least for me. I keep my wallet in the back, my keys in the right, and my cell on my left. That leaves the left butt pocket but some of my khaki's don't have that, plus its wierd using both pockets in the back. IWB is just more comfortable to me and it seems to weigh less on the hip than on the pocket.

Damn! I forgot about my keys! (I only carry one key...a car key, but it's got a fob). And the cell phone needs to not get scratched at least until it's novelty and newness has worn off

Plus, I usually carry a small pocket knife.

I was reading about the Kel Tecs over on the KTOG board. Seems the IWB clip is the way to go.

I hope you'll spring for the Kel Tec clip this time!!! LOL

there is a Kel-tec owners group linked somewhere on kel tec's web site. If you wanna see a bar of soap that shoots bullets, search around that! WOW! I recall seeing a really curvy gn!@
