I already have a flowmaster. I dont plan on running around all the time with it open, but itd be fun just to do. This is all "for the hell of it."

My old beater truck:
85 F250 5.8 HO
Edelbrock Intake, carb
'RV' cam dual exhaust with cherry bombs.

I like the way it sounds, yeah I know it's running a bit rich :-p

I kinda wanna get aftermarket exhaust for my car (2005 Civic Si, yeah, call me a ricer if ya want) but I really don't care for the added noise you get from a marginal gain in performance....maybe I'm getting old.

Added noise = more attention. Im getting old too I guess because now anything that draws attention to me is bad lol. If I can hit a switch and turn something off(exhaust cut out) then its ok. It sucks to be on the street in my supra with the inline 6 open exhaust and a cop drives by.

Adding an exhaust cut out with a cable is no big deal and they are cheap. You should be able to run dual exhaust out the back, one open and one with the flowmaster. A good muffler shop could weld that up cheap. If its a pickup why not do the exhaust coming straight up behind the cab(big rig stack style). That solves your mud problem, exhaust in the cab problem and would look cool.

A lot of times just an open exhaust sounds horrible though, loud and horrible. You need something to add the right tone to it.
