Gun show in the Phillipines

Interesting that the Phillipino people appear to have more firearms freedoms than we do here in the USA.
The pictures of their gun show looks more like what our NRA trade show or the yearly shot show looks like. Except at the Phillipino show everything is for sale and transactions are done.
Anyway, it's some interesting reading.

Thanks for the link gaspipes, it made for an interesting read. I wouldn't mind that full auto CZ, but living in Ca., I'm lucky to even be able to own a gun.

That is awesome beyond words. A lot of retired military ex-pats live in the Philippines, having been turned on to its charms while stationed there.
On a side note, I've been to that mall, and it really is a MEGA mall. 3 stories (or was it 4?) and the place is so damned big you need to bring a canteen if you're going to browse the whole thing.

My first .22 was a Squires Bingham M-20d from the Philipines. It finally died after many millions of rounds. I do have the same actioned rifle as featured in my avatar. It's a M-1600 and it shoots!
(I check this forum several times a week, how did I miss this post? )

Speaking of what you said Nik, my brother-in-law, a retired Navy Master Chief, is married to a Phillipina lady. When he retired about 5yrs ago, they and their son moved to that island where the rebels killed and beheaded that man from Corona, Ca. a few years ago.
He grew disenchanted with U.S. politics and that, together with his retirement, caused him to move there. He is considered a rich man there. Personally, I wouldn't move to a 3rd world country for any reason, but each to his own.
Sorry for the topic drift.

You must be referring to Mindanao, the southern-most island. It's where most Filipino muslims are from. I probably wouldn't live out there; the farther away you get from the central government in Manila, the more it becomes cowboy country. That said, if his wife is from Mindanao I'm sure she wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
A lot of guys with a steady income (like retirement pay) move to the Philippines, Thailand, or other south asian countries because, as you said, their money goes a lot farther. Many become entrepeneurs, open shops, bars, restaurants. e.g. There's an authentic Cajun restaurant in Pattaya, Thailand called Bourbon Street, owned by an ex-pat.
