How many of you are getting the auto warranty scam calls?
These people are driving me nuts. They call at all hours, and won't stop no matter how many times I tell them. I was reading up on it, and apparently there are around 70 companies in the St. Louis area trying to sell them. The company that keeps calling me has a New Jersey number though. 973-804-0196. I just filed a complaint with the FTC at Federal Trade Commission. All you need is their number or company name to identify them, and it only takes about 5 minutes. From what I've read they are well aware of the problem and are trying to figure out which ones are ignoring the do not call registry and/or calling repeatedly. If you are not on the registry, you can sign up at the ftc site in about 30 seconds.

quite a few dang times and ALWAYS from a different number. i had started saving the numbers as "waranty scam #" on my phone, but it was always a new number so i gave up.
i have 203-608-5005 and 717-432-5696 saved as warranty scam numbers.

Same thing but a company claiming you asked about mortgage info (complete BS) and wanting to sell you 'grant info': 213-228-8111. Ugh!

I've thankfully never gotten them, but then again we are signed up for every no-call list there is, mobile and home phones. FWIW, when we switched to Vonage we noticed a significant drop in sales call volume, even before we got on the list.

The mobile phone part really ticks me off. It's illegal for a company to auto-dial cell phones because the cell owner can be charged for the call. They can dial it by hand, but we know they aren't doing that.
