TRP 1911 Grip Question

Just got a 1911 TRP w/ Armory Kote - non rail version this weekend.

Someone online told me that standard grips (even made for ambi safety and magwell) will not fit on this gun because of the ambi safety Springfield uses.

This guy had the TRP Operator, though (w/ the rail).

Anyone else w/ this gun can verify this? Have you replaced your grips?

Here is a pic:

I'm not sure either but you might want to check out www.1911forum.com if you haven't done so already. I don't see anything different about their thumb safety or magwell.

The thing to look for with new grips is to verify they have a ambi cut on the right side grip panel. Check out smith and alexanders web site.

If you have a dremel, you can make your own ambi cut to allow for clearance, just shave a little off of the inside, very easily done.

Just make sure that the grips are for ambi safeties and you should be ok.

As long as the grips are for an ambi safety and assuming they are quality grips you will have no problem.
