The minute they entered his home, they threatened his loved ones. If you cannot see that, you might as well leave your gun locked unloaded in the safe and assume a fetal position.

I will admit I may have a different mindset than some, after being in le and seeing what I saw, but I'm sure there are plenty here who have no le experience and believe the same way.

I keep my surefire right next to my gun. I want to know what I'm shooting at.

Being dark and not knowing what is going is a huge danger to those loved ones you are trying to protect.

I fully expect them to be armed and want to harm me or my loved ones. I was simply saying if they were not armed I'd hope I have the presence of mind to try to stop the situation and hold for the cops. If they aren't interested in being stopped well then things are going to get serious real fast.

I'm not about to go firing at the first thing that moves in my house at night.

We've had a few of these discussions before. I don't feel its worth taking a life over something as small as possessions. But don't think I'm going to just stand there and go "take what you want just don't hurt me".

Sounds like a good way to get yourself killed. Who in the hell is going to bust into your house and let you hold them for the cops. They always run or attack. If they run you just might be seeing them again real soon. If you let them get away you give them the opportunity to go for their next victim.

It's not only how you feel about things you must consider state laws as well. You don't do yourself any justice if your the one who ends up in jail.
