Nice. We only have a spring season where my land is in Bastrop County. We've got some nice big boys out there though. Turkey hunting is so fun.

At least someone was sucessful today. I went out for 2 hours today looking to bag some squirrel and all I saw was pheasent. Why didn't I shoot the pheasent? Because I was squirrel hunting w/ a .22 as usual. Maybe I should consider using a shotgun...

Must be nice! Yer lucky if ya see a pheasant in PA let alone get a chance to shoot one. I did shoot one this year but he took flight and got away. Found him 2 days later about a 1/4 mile away from the spot that I shot him! Seems that all the animals round my part like to take off when ya shoot them! I hit a fox 3 times yesterday and he kept trucking! I tracked him for about 3/4 of a mile and lost the blood trail. Oh well, I bet the Pheasants are thanking me!

Yum!

Unfortunately, we do not see very many turkeys in Fayette County. Used to bust them all the time when we hunted out in Junction - the bastards were everywhere...10-20 of them would come in at a time. We were covered up with turkey in Kimble County! I used to borrow my uncle's Savage bolt gun in 22 Hornet for the job - what a perfect round for turkey hunting.

Nice truck. I, too drive a Toyota truck - a 2004 Tundra extended cab. Yep, I drive the old Volvo sedan to work, but for working or helping at the family ranch - its the Tundra. Toyota definately builds the best trucks. I used to love the Chevy Silverados, but the Toyotas are so much better built and big enough now. I would have held out for the newer Tacoma, but alot of times, I have to haul a horse trailer or alot of feed and hay or ATVs and need the V-8.

So..how many more Toms are you allowed in your county?

4 turkey for the year.deer season bearded hens or gobblers, spring season only toms and you have to use a shotgun.I picked up a rem 870 mag and a extra full choke this year.I'll be ready.I am hooked, that wild turkey has a flavor that can't be matched.I hunt kansas for pheasant but I think the turkey has it beat.
my in laws this year on opening pheasant day killed 28 that morning and 36 that afternoon.the whole family gets out and walks the fields.it's a hoot.
they have a farm and as far as the eye can see is corn and wheat.
last year we kicked out 2 mulies and a white tail that would break 180-200 lb's easy.get this they don't deer hunt I think I have them talked into geeting some land permits for deer next year..I hope
