So, I stroll in to the local shop and sitting on the rack is a new, unfired Norinco Mak90. It's in great shape, got the gun, 3 - 5 round mags, 1 - 30 round mag, sling, oiler, and all the other crap that comes with the gun for $350.00.

First up is sanding the stocks down for a refinish and making the thumb hole more of a thumb hole, rather than a hole drilled in a 2X6.

I redid my stock so I can get a better grip and it looks better too

They're VERY nice guns, IMO. I'm not gonna bother with redoing the thumbhole -- sometime soon (when I have the money) I'm gonna get with Ironwood and convert it to a pistol grip. I'll probably just drop in a Tapco G2 for the rest of my compliance parts.

Have fun with her, and don't let the fact that she's brand new keep you from shooting her! You got a good deal (a bit better than I got for the same package) on it.

Dave's always has a great selection, but their prices are out of control.

You got a NIB Norinco and you are going to sand the stock and drill out the thumbhole????

I know it's your gun and all, but damn, since Chinese weapons are no longer importable into the USA, I would think you would at least leave the gun in it's original configuration. You got a good deal on it, but if you screw up the original stock, you might be able to sell it someday for what you have in it.

JMO.
