I'm a C&R addict...

Ok its clear to me I need to get my C&R. I bought the three C&R guns last weekend and I'm hooked! I love the history of them etc. Heck the turk I haven't even started working on yet and I can wait to get them cleaned up as best as possible not to mention buy some more.

My question is... what do I get next!? I've always wanted an SKS... but there are so many options in C&R land!

C&R's are addicting I deffinately recommend a SKS. I love mine. IMO a russian is the way to go if you plan to get just one SKS. I also love my M91/30 which is russian also. However, a Finnish M91/30 are the best. It all depends on if your just collecting or if you love to shoot em'

Go get a good Yugo 59/66. Start cheap. Maybe then a 91/30. Or a Yugo M48 Mauser. See what really intrigues you. It may just be the SKS. Then you can go crazy nuts buying them up. Or Mosins...you could spend the rest of your life buying different variations of nothing but.

One I'd strongly suggest is the Swiss K31. You'll be amazed the first time you take it apart, and the first time you shoot it.

if you want a good cheap semi-auto, nothing beats the yugo sks. Get some stripper clips for it for sure. If you are looking for a collector piece though, stay away from the yugo. But if you want to shoot the ever loving crap out of a gun, it can't be beat. The Yugo's with the grenade launcher have a thicker barrel so it doesn't get warm as quick.

and I don't have a C&R license, but I've done well through the the ages by scrounging gunshows, gunshops, pawnshops and the like. Surplus arms are still plentiful for the most part, but some things are drying up fast. A centerfire rifle for under $100? Nowhere in the world except the good ole USA

my current invantory is in my sig.. well the new stuff anyway.

I love the 91/30. The K31 is awesome but I expected it to be. The mosin was the real surprise.

Looks like you have a great collection. I'd love to get the american historical stuff first but almost all of it is to damn expensive. M1 Garande from CMP maybe but considering how much other stuff I can get for the money its hard to justify.

I like shooting a lot more than I like looking at them. However, I believe in using whatever it is your collecting and not just looking at it.

Did you get AIM Surplus' latest mailer?

Ugh! ...and right before Christmas...thats playing dirty!

They have really cool stuff, like M-39, 91/30 and M1891 Finnish Nagants (yeah...haven't seen those in years!), laminated stock Russian Mosins, minty looking Czech VZ-24s and super cheap MkIII Enfields. Makarovs, P-38s and cheap K-31s, too.

Damn you AIM Surplus! I'll be ordering a Finnish M1891 long rifle in the next day or so. The Finnish re-worked Mosins are the cream of the crop and fairly rare birds.

I think hobocircus has been digging in my safe! LOL

Yep ,the Mosin 91/30 is a good shooter, but the M-39 Finnish Nagant is almost in the Swede Mauser category for accuracy. They were made by SAKO and Valmet and are very accurate and fun shooters. They are also fairly rare birds. I have a Tikka-built M-27 in pristine shape and according to every Mosin expert I have contacted, only 16,000 or so were built. Thats a fairly rare rifle...and to think I paid 80 buck at a pawn shop for the thing!
