He replied to my PM and said he charges $**.** per mag plus $*.** per order for shipping! Well worth it in my opinion! I will be sending him one soon.

i got the pricing... and i would rather spend that much on something else .... i will stick with the 5 rounder for carry i have no issue with gripping the lil beast... the mod virtually doubles the cost of a magazine....
the workmanship seems very good and "a workman is worthy of his hire"
I Tim 5:18 ...BUT...... to much for me....
i am thinking it would be nice if some mag company like Mec Gar just made one it would be half as much... oh well

Honestly I would be waaaaayyyy to worried about safety & reliability on a CCW pistol.

One caveat is my carry pistol HAS to be 99.999% reliable in the Worst situation.

Yes, I would like a magazine chop for the concealed reason, yes. BUT I don't think I'd ever feel comfortable with a newbie cutting up a factory magazine for more than a few new mags would cost!
AND I'd be betting my LIFE on them.

Why do you carry again? Oh yeah, but it must be reliable!

Sorry if nobody agrees, just my 0.02

My post count here, may seem low, to you, and nothing to do with experience, but I have modified thousands of mags, mostly EMP mags, I am recommended by Dave Williams, the head pistolsmith at Springfield, also for another manufacture that didn't see the round butt coming when his where set up for manufacture, so lots of experience. Have done less than 100 of the XDs however, as they do cost more due to the extra work. Not really trying to make a sale, just to reassure. If I never did another XDs mag, I really wouldn't miss it.

Just read the entire thread. The individual who mods the mags does have a low post count, but he registered back in 2010 and communicates exclusively via PM. In addition, he's made other mag mods in the 1911 forum. Reading all the feedback and seeing the craftsmanship in the pics, he doesn't appear to be a "newbie".
