Ammo for XDS 45
Ok guys what ammo works anddoes not work in the XDS 45 auto?
When I bought mine I was looking for some practice rounds and the guy at the gun shop told me not to use Blazer since several people told him they were having problems with that brand in the XDS's they just bought.

Haven't seen any significant reports that the XD-s is ammo picky. But it might depend on whether you are talking about Blazer Brass, or the aluminum Blazer. I personally would avoid any use of steel or aluminum cased ammo, except in guns specifically okayed for use of this type ammo. Any decent brass cased ammo should work fine.

I shot Blaser brass no problem. I avoid steel case ammo.
From round 1 I have no issue at all. Ate WWB fine. Mostly I shoot PMC got bulk at a good price.
Did this shop sell Blazer brass or a competing brand (s)?? Maybe a bit of bias involved.

These answers are what I'm looking for. At the time I biought the XDS they only had two brands of 45's there and all of the ammo is behind the counter in the open where you can see them. Besides Blazer they only had RWS. I don't know which Blazer it was.
I did pick up some Winchester white box 45's at Wal-Mart while they had some and I do have some PMC on order but that's all except for the Hornady Critical Defense I plan on carrying.

shot and ate it all pmc magtech federal WWB blazer brass and aluminum , only issue was on tula ammo but most likely my fault 2 rounds FTF

Everything runs in mine. I use blazer brass/wwb/pmc and federal American eagle for target and I have tried gold dots, ranger t, and now I carry and strongly prefer federal hst. I bet the shop wants you to buy certain ammo for practice.

Same here, mine feeds everything, even my target swc reloads. There may be something your gun won`t feed, maybe try befor you buy in bulk.

I have used among other things, WWB, Blazer Brass, Blazer aluminum (probably 400 rds) and Estate (made by Federal). All of it was 230g hardball. The only problems I had were failures to fire at rounds 175 and 180, with the Estate. They both fired when retried. I shot 15 rds of 185g Federal JHP this AM to see how it worked and it was fine. I'm now at 1000rds +
I had been worried after seeing some of the doom & gloom posts here, I have no reservations about this gun working when it needs to at this point.
