I saw one at a LGS in St. Charles MO last week, I believe it was a 45 for $549. I should have bought it.

Wilcox Bait and Tackle in Newport News, VA had both black and Bi-Tone in their case today. Prices were high though. $650 for the black and $720 for the Bi-Tone.

The Kansas City Cabelas had 2 about a month back. I bought a Bi-Tone XDs using the employee discount special. It is a nice little handgun. I knew they were popular but the panic has everything flying off the shelf, not just the higher capacity ones.
I was surprised they had discounted Kahr PM9 pistols for sale too. I bought one with the black diamond coating. That is a great pocket 9.
Right now, if I wanted a specific gun, I would just visit gun stores and take my chances. I would be flexible too. When I bought the Springfield XDs, I also checked out the Kahr PM45. It was almost a tossup and I chose the XDs. The PM45 would have been good too and easier to detail strip.
Things will catch up eventually. Just a little patience will go a long way. While you are at it, order some extra magazines. My extra XDs mags are still back ordered from MidwayUSA. Also, of you have a holster in mind, you night as well get one now. Also, remember to stock up on range and carry ammo.

XDS's in Utah are a HOT item. Usually when a store gets them they sell out within the hour. I cant even find them on the 2 local gun classifieds. But a ton of WTB's. I luckily got mine although i wanted the bi tone. Beggars cant be choosers. Im still happy with the all black
