Count me a weird too. I love my XD 9sc. I also love my HK USP 9. Ammo is (relatively) cheap and the more I shoot the more confident I am in the pistol. A single stack 9 is right up my alley.
Everybody seems to love the XDs in .45. The 9 should be equally lovable. What sets the XD line apart from so many other pistols, in my opinion, is that they feel like a real weapon. They have some mass to them. I chose the XD 9sc over a Glock and an M&p because of this. There is something about the classic combat pistols (Sig, HK and even the Beretta) that feel different and the XD has that feel with the features of a striker fired pistol.
I am hoping that the XDs has that same feel.

An XDs .357 would be a very desirable weapon for me. I wonder what the recoil from that wildcat would feel like....

Agreed, if they need some starting funds I'll gladly send it in return for the pistol. I hope it comes out soon, cool thing is it'll fit in my current XDS holster!

I've been a .40 S&W guy for some time. I purchased the XDS .45 and love it so far. The wife likes the size of the xds but hates the snap of a .45 so she wants one in 9mm. Thats a section of the market that a xds 9mm will shine, people that like the size but hate the .45. If they ever offer a .40 I'll be on that like white on rice untill then the .45 is my EDC
