Empty chamber with full magazine?

Related to a new S/A XDS:

Dumb question: it appears there is a lot more resistance to insert a full magazine without locking open the slide. (With intent to keep chamber empty while full magazine is inserted)

Question: Is this bad for the internals to physically insert the mag without locking back the slide (ejector, striker, etc) Regardless of "philosophy" of carrying a concealed pistol with an empty chamber, I know the mag sticks out of the bottom of the grip slightly more if the chamber accepts a round versus inserting the mag without the slide back.

Thanks for your input.

No, Its not bad. If its a new xds which it sounds like it is. Its a Tool. Treat it like one. plus its warrantied for life. Grab your mag place it in the magwell push it... feel the resistance. Then, with your left palm smack the mag into the pistol. It'll click into place.

No. You won damage the gun by inserting a mag when it's in battery. When the mag springs wears a little it will get easier to insert he mag.

Same here pull back hard and slam it home. Otherwise I get a failure to feed / bullet jam.

I as well will be willing to take time out of my very busy schedule to test, and dispose of any defective firearm you may be having problems with. Its the least I can do.
