Slide Glide
Hello!
New XDs owner... new to guns as well. Attempting to do stuff right. Bought some Slide Glide that I used on the fire breathing dragon after cleaning with RemOil after removing the gun from the package (initial cleaning). Shot 50 rounds or so. I like the slide glide, since it seems to make the gun a lot easier to handle, but I don't like that I will get slide glide all over my clothes... Not to be a girl, but... it's grease, and therefore hard to get out of some stuff.
How do you clean and lube your XDs? Open for suggestions!
Thanks!

I too just recently picked up an XDs and have been trying to decide what is the best to clean and then lube this gun up. I was 100% set on slide glide but a lot seem to say it is not the best for an EDC setup.

I am pretty new to this but I have not had any issues with the slide glide on 3 guns, one being an XDS. I apply it liberally and then rack the slide a bunch to get it spread out in there. I then wipe off anything that made it's way out of the gun and remove the slide again to wipe away any grease that got slung where it didn't belong. If while it's apart again I see the grease didn't cover certain metal to metal contact points I put a tad more on and rack it again to make sure it's everywhere. This grease seems to stay put quite well and I have not noticed it getting messy to where I may get it on clothes when trying to carry it.

Lucas Red 'n Tacky = Slide Glide. Go buy a tube and you've got ten lifetime supplies.

Tri-Flow
Bought a Series 70 Gold Cup in the early '80's
Used it since it was known as TriFlon.
Gold Cup is still lookin' and shooting fine, very
little signs of wear.
I use it on everything that needs lubrication.
Well ... almost everything...
Nuff said.

I use Slide Glide on everything. Pocket pistols and range guns. A little dab will do ya. Good stuff!

As others have said, do not use grease on your XDS as it will increase your chance of problems. Use oil. I prefer to use guns that fire reliably when using grease.

Disagree disagree disagree
My XDS has seen nothing but grease. Has been thru 4 types of ammo, and me trying to hold the gun many many ways and it's been flawless thru 400 rounds. I have also let 3 other people shoot the gun and none of them had problems with my greasy XDS.

^ This guy shot it without cleaning. Nothing to do with grease/oil.
You don't put the grease everywhere, just a tiny bit (Slide Glide).
You still have to clean the gun first.
I clean and oil with Gunzilla which lightly lubes the rest of the gun including the barrel.
