ETA - just noticed that was your first post - so welcome to a great forum.

I struggled with holster choices since getting my XDs two weeks ago. Have a KingTuk for 1911, never liked it, just could not get used to stuffing a big flat of leather down my pants. I realize that the size spreads the load, but after buying a small gun for CCW I want small holster - don't want to increase the package size more then absolutely needed. Also, that large style is not easy to insert/remove, for example in a car.

So tried Uncle Mike's size 12 - it fit and carried quite well (especially considering the $12 price). But I did not like the looseness when off belt because I want to just leave carry gun chambered in holster when off belt at night. Less handling presents less opportunity for error - I handle all guns as loaded but hey I am human and our species makes mistakes, so I want that trigger covered always.

Tried a Galco stow'n'go in many sizes at nearby lgs. Closest is for xd compact - just a hair short but ok with sight fully covered, good other then that. I like it so far, easy on and off belt/pants. Good tightness around frame and slide due to a metal bit inside top edge of holster. I made a very minor cut along edge for a circle where mag release lies - eliminated a hot spot against me, no chance of inadvertent release, and added bonus that I can swap mags while gun/holster off belt (5 round carry, 7 round HD)

Does anyone know if Harwell can customize his holster slightly to have it ride a little deeper

Have you looked at nate squared (N82)? They are a company out of Houston TX. Word is they make great holsters.

Don't know if they do, but you can change the clip with others. I had a metal one that allowed it to ride deeper, but swapped it back because I liked the original better.

Larry at Tennessee Holster Company makes a leather IWB holster with an adjustable cant. I have one for my fullsize .45 and it's pretty sweet.

Inside the waistband Gun Holsters

Note that I've modified mine with some extra t-nuts to make it ambidextrous and tuckable.

I would shoot em an email. I emailed asking if they could cover the mag release and they got back to me the next morning about it. Just had me enter the request in the comment line and they got it done. Pretty sure ill be getting a clip n go soon to go with my pro tuck.
