when was your first shot fired
So what's the date on the cartridge when your gun was tested, mine is 06-07-12, now I bought the gun 08-07-12 so two months later, which makes me a little nervous, is there a chance the gun was used in that long period of time, like used at a dealer as a rental but wasn't selling so they sent it to a different dealer, when I bought the gun it was checked as new and not used but when I cleaned it, it seemed pretty dirty especially where the firing pin goes
Any thoughts, I know there's nothing I can do now but just wondering

My cartridge was marked 7-18-12 and I purchased on 8-10-12. I was there when the gun came off the truck so I know it wasn't used. It does seem odd that it was that dirty. I doubt it was a rental but they may have put a few rounds through it to see if they liked it?
What I also find strange is that I got mine right off the truck last week and it was a 517xxx serial number and there are already 52xxxx numbers out there.

I'd think that 2 months coming from Croatia, probably by boat, going through customs, etc, would be pretty much the normal timeframe.
(sorry, too lazy to drag my spent one and receipt out of the closet to answer your actual question)

Mine is 05-07-12, bought late July, so more then two months. This is common I think, thru distribution. As for your dirt, that could be gunk from manufacturing, these are mass produced guns, not hand polished for delivery
Don't think you should worry, if you bought new with receipt, you have springfield's great warranty.

They are shipped by air. They can get to market far quicker than 2 months.

It was my 29th birthday, I was born 6/18/83. So yes, it was test fired on my birthday, just not the day I was born.
