XDS is a great training gun
With my Sigs. Glocks. Berettas. and H and K handguns I had to put in dummy rounds to practice clearing drills for failure to fire. My XDS has built-in failures to fire, so the expense of dummy rounds can be avoided. Is the XDS a great self-defense gun? I wouldn't bet my life on it.

Learn to disassemble a firearm properly, clean it, and lube it with a good quality grease, and you will likely find that it works as it should
