I am left-handed so I can't just use the slide release. The only problem I have is loading the Federal Hydroshocks hp. If you don't rack the slide hard and fast the round can get stuck. Not sure if there's any solution...

I'm left handed as well. I just use the middle knuckle of my trigger finger to push up on the slide catch. Works for me.

Like my fellow WV'ian said....keep mine lubed up also. I'm a bit OCD and keep them clean. It's what I do while watching football.

I've lost count, but have about 300-350 rounds through it, mostly all WWB with a few Federal Hydra Shok through it. Have had 0 problems at all.

Nope. Haven't had a failure of any kind, shooting nothing but reloads.

I'm a lefty as well. During my last range outing I simply held the gun in my left hand and racked the slide with my right.

Going all the way back isn't too hard because it's a short distance from locked open until it stops.

I have only fired 171 rounds but I haven't experienced any failures at all.

starting to get nervous. I purchased the XDs as a replacement to a jammomatic karh cw45 I had. Now after reading all of these issues I am nervously going to the range this weekend to see my outcome.

Re: XDS - prone to jamming?

Never had a problem with mine about a thousand rounds a very different ammo thru it. make sure you have a firm grip and don't limp wrist it.

You'll be fine. Just be sure to clean it first, lube it, and dont rack it like a sissy.

My XDs shoots flawlessly until it gets dirty, 100-150 rounds. A good cleaning and repeat.
