Complete Disassembly XDs

Is it the same as the other XD's? Are there any differences I should be aware of? I've not disassembled any, but there is a nice youtube video from here of an XD SC!

Different in every way. Have you even looked at the guts? It's more like a Glock.

i just disassemble mine completely yesterday. The slide is very similar to a glock. If you remove the back cover (while keeping your thumb on it so FP don't fly out) you have access to the FP. The extractor can be remove byt punching out the extractor pin. The frame has 3 pins. two by the trigger and one by the backstrap area. Remove those and the whole trigger assembly comes out.

I was looking into making the trigger smoother. I did noticed that alot of the trigger parts and surfaces are rough and causes more friction. I might go back to those areas and polish them. I wish there was a way to change the trigger pull weight without having to mod it or altering parts.

And so as not to confuse the issue, the general consensus as to the "damage"/dent seen on the striker is that it is normal break-in wear as the striker seats against the safety stop. I have a nice little dent on mine, and it has 400+ rounds without issue.

I was caught a little off guard when field stripping, cleaning, and lubing mine up yesterday. Was also doing it with my 4.5 9mm XDm, and definitely noticed some differences, mostly in "ease."

The XDm, or at least mine and every other one I've ever used and field stripped is much more cooperative, don't know if this is just because it's been out longer or what.

Being left handed, I for once noticed a little bit of difficulty with the slide that I've never noticed on any XD or XDm. Half the reason why I like the XD/XDm platform is because of it being ambi mag release and how "easy" it is on us lefties.

That's okay though, I'm used to having to "adjust" from my time in the Army Just caught a little bit off guard..I still like my XDs a lot.
