I didn't have any out of battery issues , or brittney spears racks. Also no light strikes.
I did have the exact issue pictured in #3. My range pro cleaned it on the spot , and HE shot it -- 1st round was a #3 followed by many more.
They fixed obscuras extractor and he's fine now.

I just bought a XDS last week.I love the sweet trigger pull but I am haveing the same problem. I reload my own ammo and the XDS does not like reloads about 3 out of 5 reloads would not chamber correctly or they would not eject properly. I fired about 50 rounds of reloads and about 75% hung up. I then tried new factory ammo and I only had 1 round in 10 to hang up. But there were a few that would not fully seat properly in the chamber. The trigger would would pull and the fireing pin would strike the primer but the bullet would not fire because the bullet was not fully seated. After about 80 rounds the XDS acted a little better with not to much problems. I am wondering if the XDS just needs a little break-in time. I will fire another box of ammo and report back. Has there been anyone to report this to Springfield yet?

What is the load you are using and what is your COAL? Did you check them in the XDs barrel (removed from the gun obviously) for proper COAL? I hand load for my 1911 and XDs and have had no problems. I have heard from others that reload that the XDs has a shorter chamber than most .45's and requires a shorter COAL, but it works fine with my Sig 1911 load.

WOW, I guess there are a few bad ones out there...mine has been flawless 500+ rds thru it. 5 different brands of ammo and a bunch of HP reloads. Serial # 503xxx. I do run it pretty wet using slide glide and hold it FIRMLY.....Sorry to see your gun acting this way, send it back and they will resolve it. Springfield is a good Co. Good Luck

I am going to take it to one more range trip before I send it back... Want to be able to tell them it has 150 or so rounds through it.
^^^ I think that would be fair.
That said, it does not always go into battery when I shoot it.
Yeah, If I POWER-RACK the slide it works much more often than just racking it, but even when firing it... it does this under its own recoil sometimes... It should certainly operate when I pull the trigger with one in the pipe and more in the mags.

"This is from xds manual. Are we to do this procedure every time?"
1. Place the EMPTY magazine in the magazine well,
located in bottom of firearm grip. Make sure the
magazine is EMPTY or you will inadvertently load the
firearm. Push firmly enough on bottom of magazine
to make sure it is properly seated. A distinctive “click”
will confirm the magazine has been properly inserted.
Pull the slide completely to the rear until it locks back.
2. Depress magazine release and remove magazine.

Just got off the phone with Springfield. They said my XD-S firearm needs to be rushed immediately to their Emergency Room ...
I got a free pre-paid label but they said they are two to six weeks out on repair.

Check your OAL. I have about 300 rounds of reloads thru mine with no issues at all.
