Love my XDS but having an issue (video)

I don't want to sound negative because I do like my gun and I have been lurking here for a while so please don't think I'm here just to bash the XDS.

This is me pulling the slide back and just letting go. Never have had this issue (and a few others I am having) with any other firearm.

EDIT: Second video

Lock it back and then insert the mag. Drop the slide lock and see if you have the same issue.

It helps but still will hang up sometimes. Using the slide release is also the only thing helping it go into full battery. Unless I really rack it like I mean business.

After the 250 round mark I can power stroke or sling shot the round
from a closed slide. before that the rule seems to be use the slide
lock and let it go. GREASE your slide rails and bbl also that helped
mine not oil.

Seems to be the nature of the beast.
Goodluck

ps watched your video and you gotta pull back way harder
than that if you want to put one in the pipe. Just my .02

First of all, how many rounds have you shot through it? It's going to take a minimum of 200 before it starts to break in. It gets better the more you shoot it! I'm with DaveShady45 on greasing your slide and barrel. I use a "Special" heavy oil that the Gunny at my range uses and it works great!

The biggest issue I have with your video is the weak way you racked the slide. I think if I tried to rack my 1911 like that, it may not feed and it has over 12,000 rounds through it and never misfeeds! The XD-s is a Tight little Bi*ch and needs to be shown who's boss! The springs are stiff and until it's broke in, you need to rack it like it owes you money! Until it is broke in use the slide release to load your first round. IT WILL GET BETTER!!!

My 2 cents!

This ^. You have solved your own riddle. Good intensions with the vid, but get ready to catch a little heat IMO. However, no shame. That's why this forum is here. What are the other issues?

Lol. At first I was like "oh a vid of a problem". Then I see this guy pull the slide like its made of paper and then RIDE the you know what out of it. I almost thought it was a joke question at that point.

it's a tight 45, don't be a Nancy! until it's well broken in you will have to load the first round by releasing the slide lock with the slide release or sling shot the locked slide. after 200 rounds I am able to load the first round like you are trying to, but you have to rack it like you mean it and not ride the slide back up, let it sling shot.

The manual even says to rack the slide, lock it into place. Insert the magazine and then use the slide release. I have never had an issue this way. Don't slow the slide with you hand. Just pull the slide release down and let it snap forward.

Yeah, you are being far too nice to it. After several hundred rounds, mine will chamber a round fine by racking the slide, but you still have to be more aggressive than you are being,
