Opinions wanted!!

Carry my 5.25 xdm 45acp daily, am not bothered with the weight, size, etc. It will be my primary weapon still. However, I also carry an extra mag with 13 extra rounds for the 5.25. Well, just got the xds, and am considering losing the extra mag for a BUG (xds with 6 rounds). Would you rather have the extra mag for the 5.25 or the xds, as a BUG with 6 rounds. The xds looks very easy to conceal, it could replace that mag. Opinions welcome!!!

BUG meaning back-up gun?
I own a 5.25" & couldn't see it being comfortable myself, but to each his own.
I'd carry the extra mag for the XDS myself to cut down on weight. With 13 rds. in the 5.25" plus 5+1 in the XDS & another 5rds in extra mag for a total of 24rds. I'd say you're in big trouble if you need more than that. Just my opinion!

I like the New York reload. Chances of doing a tactical reload are slim to none from what I've read.

I can tactical reload much faster than going for a BUG. I've tried just about every position/location if you can comfortably pack the XDM I'd say practice tac reloads... Ymmv

My BUG is in case of a serious primary weapon malfunction.

Since that is a XD-45, it's not likely to happen; but just in case...

I'd rather have another 13 rounds at my disposal than five. No disrespect to the XD-S intended, I love mine and it may be my primary carry weapon in some situations; but given the opportunity I will always carry the higher capacity weapon!
