XDs .45 - Proud new owner!
Hi everyone! I registered here a few weeks ago when I started learning about the XDs and related guns. I got the phone call Friday, picked it up an hour later, and finally managed to hit the range Sunday morning. (yes I know, but I was really busy, and it took that long to shoot it!).
I see there are a few threads asking a few questions, I'll just post the highlights here:
$525 + 6% tax (Southeast Michigan)
Serial number X508xxx
160 rounds - Winchester (bought this at the range, it was in a white box, but not sure on the type), PMC bronze, & Federal Hydrashock
NO FTF
slide always stayed back when magazine emptied
I pulled the striker out, looked at it, but I seriously need a magnifying glass, I didn't see anything note worthy. I'll get the cheaters out when I hit 500 rounds.
I shot it left (40 rounds) and right handed, my left hand is a little sore as I've never done this before, gun performed great either way.
I shot weaver and off hand and had no issues with gun.
Not much more to say, it's been quite a few years since I shot on a regular basis, and I need a lot more practice. I just posted to say "so far so good, I like this gun!".

I think that the majority of us feel like Ralphie when he got
that Red Ryder BB gun in the Christmas Story.
