Talked to SA - They want to have a look

I explained the history of my XDS, what happened and when. They said they haven't seen this before and wanted to have a look.

I'll keep you updated as events warrant.

OB, this is really racking my brain! I just can't help but wonder why only after aprox 50 rounds it acts up everytime. If it was totally random, that's one thing but.............it's almost like clockwork

It has to be a heat, or fouling issue somewhere???

I use a dental pic to clean my extractor. Works good

Hate to hear about you're problems. It's weird only happens after 50rds. or so. I'm sure SA will get you fixed up, hopefullly in a reasonable time frame as well.

I be looking for your updates man, good luck bud...

Seems like there's quite a few people who have issues, but my XDS has yet to have any kind of failure. Sounds like there might be a quality control issue.

Springfield Armory returned my XDS with a note that they had tuned the extractor to have more force. I've run 200 rounds since with zero malfunctions.

The 50 round thing seems weird. Put 100 rounds through it today with no issues whatsoever. Up to about 700 rounds and it's as reliable as my HK45. Almost embarassed with the lack of issues....NOT!

The diagnosis was a weak extractor. My guess is the tension changed as the gun warmed up. After 50 rounds it was consistently warm enough to start losing grip on the empty shell casings.

I'm glad they fixed it and it's running 100% again.

wow, that is a lot of rounds this soon. I got mine to 275 at third outing today. Only problem so far was one fail to hold back on empty mag but that might have been me. So I rate my XDs at 100%.
