Another interesting tale of grip issue. I'm going to do a trial this coming week with a friend who is a more novice shooter. Unlike someone who has been shooting a lot in leagues etc for 25+ years like me. I've had no problems but I'm wondering how he'll do as last time out he tried my wife's SIG and somehow managed to have a mis-feed jam(neither she or I have ever had one with it).
I know the gun is mechanical and definitely can have issues(and I'm sure there have been some flawed weapons) but I'm seeing so much evidence about grip issues on the forum. I've personally shot two: a rental twice at 100 rounds each and it was filthy before I shot it and no problems and mine with no issues.
Things that make you go hmm.

Approx 200 rounds. Had two failures but can't recall what they were. I think they were both FTE's...however, both happened when my wife was shooting so I am chalking this up to a limp wrist.
I personally have had no issues although it does concern me these guns are so susceptible to limp wristing being self defense carry weapons.

Ran some Federal HST through my XD-S today, and I'm pretty sure that if there was any doubt previously that my return to battery issues were being cause by grip issues, this settled it. Even though it was standard pressure HST, not +p, it was hotter than any of the FMJ I had been running previously, and I definitely could not keep a good hold in the gun - and each time I could tell my hold slipped, the slide would fail to return to battery. With the current run on ammo I can't really afford to practice more with the HSTs to improve my hold, but I guess I know what I need to do if ammo prices ever get back to resembling normal (assuming Kalifornia doesn't ban me from buying HP ammo or something by then).

Newbie on the forum. Hello everyone...
#: XS580xxx. 300+ rounds here.
Ammo: Mostly Remington UMC FMJ 230gr. Also Remington Golden Saber Bonded 230gr and Hornady Critical Defense/Zombie Max 185gr.
Issues: 3 FTF, but it was the day I bought it, so I'll attribute it to limp wristing. After that it's been working smoothly. Worth mentioning I run it on the wet side (lubrication) after reading some posts.

My extractor is failing to extract again. Calling SA in the morning for an RMA. Reverting to Ruger LCR as my EDC.
