XDS in Lakewood, Wa

Hey guys I was looking for a something to replace the LC9 in my carry rotation. I found an XDS at Surplus Ammo and Arms in Lakewood, Wa. I wanted to like it but it just wasn't for me. Just thought some of you would want a heads up.

What did you not like about? Just curious.
My wife has the LC9 & I don't really care for it, she really likes it but I prefer my Shield over the LC9 by far. The recoil/muzzle flip on the XDS is about same if not less than the LC9 IMO, the Shield has less than both.

For me there were three things that kept me from buying the XDS:

1. Price. It was listed for $520.
2. Front site. In my opinion the fiber optic front site is not the best option for a self defense gun.
3. It just didn't feel good in my hand. I don't know what it was but it just didn't feel good.

I ended up going with a Glock 27 for $399. I'm not bashing the XDS, I think it will be a great option for a lot of people but it just wasn't for me.

Interesting. What do you prefer and why?

I prefer tritium or gold bead front sights. Something that will illuminate or reflect what light there is. I have Fiber optic sights on a few of my target guns and they are great during the day. In low light situations they are difficult to pick up.
