Winchester ranger T 230gr +P I use it in everything I own, it's never failed to function flawlessly in anything!

Love the expansion too, I posted some pics of that yesterday in here

What works in one pistol does not mean it will necessarily work in another. YOU need to test the ammo in YOUR gun and make sure it works reliably in YOUR gun.

I'll let you know as soon as I hit the range this afternoon, I hope.
Going to try some Federal Hydra-Shocks & Winchester Ranger. Maybe some Gold Dots if I can find some to p/u on the way to the range..

I carry Federal 230gr HST in +P in mine. Read my review here: XDs First Time Out I ran a box of HST's through, along with Hydrashok, Gold Dot, Golden Sabre, Corbon, PDX1, and Hornady XTP. I probably shot 5-25 of each of those depending on how many I had. The XDs cycled them all 100%, after 150 rounds of 230gr FMJ. I shot a total somewhere around 250 rounds.

With any decision you make regarding your choice of carry ammo, I would highly recommend shooting plenty of it and making sure it functions. I will carry the 230gr HST +P in mine. It is an impressive round to say the least.

Are the heavier 230 gr. rounds better than the lighter rounds with the short bbl?

I haven't seen or performed any ballistics or terminal testing. In general, I would expect the lighter 185's and 200's to have higher velocity. The +P on the 230gr helps make some of that up.

May need to define "better"...
